WTB W201 or W202

Hey guys, I'm new here but not new to forums. I'm in the market for a very clean W201 or W202 preferably manual transmission. I live in West Chester, PA 19382 so as long as its not more than an hour drive I would love to see what you have. I'm new to the Mercedes world so is there anything I should know before wanting to buy a W201 or 202? Post away! I'm looking to spend no more than 5,000.

As far as I know, the 202 never came with a 5spd (though someone may have swapped one) 201's did have available 5spds, but they are mostly autos. If you are looking for a 4cyl (2.3) they are a little more common to find with a 5spd, but if you want a 6cyl (2.6) those are pretty hard to come by with a manual trans. But deff feasible within your budget. You may even be able to find a nice Sportline with a 5spd (very rare, but they do pop up from time to time). Also, look into the 190E 2.3-16v, another rare car, this one with a racing pedigree, and most of them have a dogleg 5spd (though a number of them were autotragic)

Good luck on your hunt.

Well, I have a VERY clean W202 auto as in a almost 40,000 mile 1999 C280 Sport. I'm about 4 hours away and it's not in your price range, but you're welcome to take a look. Link is in my signature.

(I was looking for a $4,000~ C Class when I found and bought the nearly new 29,000 mile C280 Sport in 2006 for $15,100.)
