FS (4) 14" Old Style rims

More of a feeler ad, I've got (4) 14" old style rims from '83 wagon. Doing some spring cleaning and would like them gone. Open to reasonable offers, shipping will not be cheap from Nova Scotia (unless you're nearby)

There is almost no market for used bundts unless they are in pristine condition. The very early ones are somewhat desirable (different valve stem setup) but still not really worth much. The junkyard will charge $32 for a bundt. And probably a $5 core charge. FYI.

Sometimes people like a spare set of wheels for winter tires. I have about 8 Bundts in my garage taking up space that I want to get rid of. Some of them are the early ones from 1970s. On the list of things to get rid of...

14" Bundt

Clean them as well as you can, take good pictures and put them ebay.
A few years ago, you could not give them away. Now they have become somewhat harder to find, since the last year they were installed was 1985.

I actually had a few people ask me for them.

Just my two $ 0.02 worth.

If you do this, be very careful how you calculate shipping. You could easily end up spending more time than you expect packing the wheels and then end up with an over-sized box and pay dimensional weight with UPS and get completely screwed on ebay. Been there, done that. I find the easiest way to pack wheels is in a single box per wheel 16 x 16 x 8 for a 14 x 6 wheel and put a piece of pipe insulation around each rim edge. Add $2 for the box and probably about $4 for the pipe insulation. So in my case, I'm adding $10 in my costs for each wheel I ship. It very quickly becomes _not_ cost effective to sell the wheels if they buyer doesn't want to pay the costs. For ebay to calculate shipping correctly, you need to do it this way, add the $10 to your handling cost, and let ebay do the postage cost. Then you list it as an item where you have 4 available, let them buy 1 to 4. Do _not_ set the listing to combine shipping. This is the only way I know of that will cause ebay shipping to work correctly. Then when you sell 4 of them, see if packing them 2 to a box works better (costs less) - it might, it might not. If you come out ahead on shipping 2 to a box, you refund the savings to the buyer via the "details - refund buyer" tab on the paypal transaction record and only refund the excess.

The biggest mistake you can make is to set a flat shipping rate and then find out that you underestimated the cost and time and then have the wheels sell for a small amount. It will make you wish you sent the wheels to the recycling scrap metal center where they will actually pay you something for the alloy!

Selling Bundt Wheels

Agreed, ebay does have challenges. The shipping calculator has become a lot better the last few years, eBay’s policies for resolving issues has become much worse. You get a whiney complaining buyer, you usually end up eating the deal.
Life does change.
I suppose, check on completed items ( auctions ) to see how much the rims are selling for now would be a good start.
Other forums, like Craigslist might also work.
Good Luck with the sale of the wheels.
