Deadbeat eBay Seller: mercedesparts4cheap

Warning, do not buy parts from this eBay seller!

I bought a set of five used non-turbo injectors and he accidentally only sent me four. Sent the fifth right away but...

A couple weeks later I wanted to buy a set of turbo injectors. I had mentioned it before and he said he had them. I had an urgent need for them and went ahead and sent a payment that would cover the injectors (based on their previous sale price) and express shipping and said that I would need him to ship within 48 hours.
He got back to me a couple days later and said that he couldn't abide by my shipping needs and that he would refund me.

Understandable, except then he never sent the refund and a couple days later I got notice from Paypal that USPS had tracking info for my package being shipped priority mail!
Worse yet, he never dropped them in the mail! He just got the tracking info to make it more difficult for me to file a Paypal claim, so it took two weeks of complaining to Paypal to finally get my money back.

Be warned!

But it doesn't make any sense... why would he do this given he can't win the situation with Paypal. Seems like a stupid move on part of the seller. Do you have any idea why he did this? Could it have been human error?

Definitely not a human error. I sent four emails and got no response. Previously he always responded within a couple days.
I can find no reason other than evil spite. Some people are just a$$holes I guess

There should be a thread for deadbeat eBay (and elsewhere) sellers. I've got quite a rant about a particular a$$hat on eBay that I got screwed over by because I decided to buy direct from him rather than going through eBay.

It's unfortunate, because most interactions I have with random people on the internet whether eBay or forum-found, have been good. These guys make everyone look bad.

99.5% feedback isn't so bad. plus you got your money back. worst case it sounds like maybe he was pissed... maybe someone wasted his time. well ebay does say to do your transaction via ebay.

Of course they do; they want their fees.

I like dealing directly with a seller if I've bought from them before to help them avoid spending this money on eBay, but a few jerks out there make that seem like a really bad idea and seem to be prepped up waiting for the gullible sucker to come along and agree to purchase directly. I lost around $600 and ended up with long-damaged useless parts this way. To a guy with 99% feedback too, it really doesn't mean that much.

If you got the first 5 injectors as wanted, I don't understand why this is even mentioned?

Did you make sure he still had the parts mentioned 2 weeks earlier, or did you just paypal him unsolicited for the injectors the same amount as for the earlier deal, and expected express shipment?

This is a quite reputable parts seller whom I have known, and bought parts from for 8 years.
I understand most of his parts business are requests for specific parts from repeat customers.
Perhaps we are not getting the whole story?
