I have the standard rubber solid black Mercedes wheel to replace in the vehicle immediately but if someone could direct me to step-by-step instructions for steering wheel removal in this 84 500SL, I would be able to pull this and ship it faster to the most (financially) interested party. I took some more detailed photos of the condition, signature, etc. in the meantime.
Follow this video for general Mercedes steering wheel removal.

Steering Wheel Removal and Replacement on Older Mercedes | MercedesSource.com

I assume the adapter hub of the Nardi wheel is fastened the same way as a normal Mercedes wheel, using the 10mm tapered head bolt.

Basically remove the horn button, (should be friction/snap-in fit), and you should be able to see the 10 mm bolt at the bottom of the adapter.

The bolt removal info is important, watch the video.

If the original bolt is used, you will need a high quality 10mm allen socket, the guy in the video sells them for $10, Mercedes Source.com, it's a good website, sharing a bunch of instructional videos and selling some useful stuff.

good luck..
