I don't know what all is involved with the security system on the 2000 C-series, but with the 2001, changing the EIS also requires at least a matching engine computer and steering column lock I'd suggest checking with the MB parts man to see if you can change just the EIS. Currently there is an Ebay listing with your EIS part number, along with a computer for an E430.

I think that the main issue will be that it comes from a different vehicle than the one you would be installing it in. As I've said, I'm not an expert on the anti-theft system in the 2000 C-series. But, what I think that I've learned about a 2001 C-series is that unless the EIS, ECU and steering column lock all are from the same vehicle, the switch is not going to work. The part number for your switch has been replaced by A210 545 06 08. My guess is that in the long run it will probably be cheaper, and a whole lot less frustration, to order a new EIS from the dealer. Good luck.

Your right I am actually working on that now because I found out I would need the transmission computer as well
