WTB - R107 Euro Headlights

Howdy from Texas,

I'm looking for a pair of Euro Headlights for my 1979 280SL. Also, the wipers...

I found a nice deal on a pair a while back and they were for an earlier model 107. I was very discouraged and almost sold my US Headlights before I realized the mistake.

I'm not in a hurry, and will consider buying them individually but as a pair is a plus for me.

Also, I will gladly TRADE my headlights (Very Nice Condition) however, I currently need them to drive at dark.

Thanks Y'all. JC

Are you looking for the ones with the light range regulators? The early model will work in your vehicle.

Whichever lights I had were off of a circa '74, I think... and they did not have all of the same parts as the ones for the later models. That may be what was missing, but I don't have the parts diagram. My mechanic said (after I showed him the lights and tried to use them) that I needed the newer ones. The older ones may work, but I prefer plug and play. As well, thanks for adding that, but I no longer have the older set anyway.

I'm still looking for the exact fit for my 1979. Thank you for responding. JC

Good luck finding what you want/need if you can't figure it out yourself. Find the part number in the epc as a starter. If you are not aware of what the epc is, it is the electronic parts catalog that you can use it on a pc with java (not a mac). Google "mercedes epc".

Euro lights are euro lights and the early model would work fine. The only difference is that the newer ones have a vacuum adjustment on the back. I'm pretty sure of that, worse comes to worse you might have to change the electric plug on the back of the lights. If you find the newer lights with vacuum adjustment you'll have to "clearance" where the vacuum adjuster fits in the headlight housing in the fender.

I'm currently working on my headlamp wiper system and found out after buying used wiper arms that you can get a set new for around 80$. There is a link in the R107 forum somewhere. I just got a spare wiper assembly and motor at junkyard to play with.
