Mercedes Benz Vito 110 : Insulated+Carpet+Alloys+Sub+Amp+Coded bumpers Electric Pack

Vito 110CDI, Insulated, semi-carpeted, full service history.

Drop me an email for pictures, or give a call.

This is not the run of the mill bag of nails builders van, it has been loved and cared for all its life. Low millage for its age; 10k a year its whole life.

2001 51 plate Mercedes Vito 110 (102bhp & 250Nm torque with turbo and intercooler). Previous owner had it since 2006, myself for two years (since 1/3/2010). Chap I bought it from is a long time friend. Fully HPI checked and clear etc. V5 present. Original factory fitted Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser.

MOT until September 9th 2012. Registered as SORN yesterday - vehicle will come with 6 months tax when sold. Millage at 115,341 (slightly higher as used it a couple of times since photo's). Have loads of old tax discs and MOT certificates to 2004!. Receipts for just about every little thing going back to an oil change in 2002!

To give you an idea of how well this van has been looked after, its only ever failed MOT's on bulb failures!

Full service history to the point of being anal (I have a spreadsheet..). Easy life, just over 10k a year its whole life. Currently almost on 115k. Used for MTB's, motorcross, camping, trips to the alps and beyond, occasional tip-trip and a bit of commuting; no heavy weight. Washed and waxed regularly. Cheap to insure and easy to service yourself if your that way inclined - oil, filters, brakes etc. Major service August 2012 - fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, brake fluid, inner CV boot and brake flexi's. It's ready to go for a few years without anything being touched. Oil changed every 5000 miles.

Private use (not commercial). Owner previous to me was a design engineer for Stanley Tools, and used it for Mountain Biking and Motorcross only, the same as me.

Interior
Acoustic tape fitted to all metal panels to reduce road noise, insulated with Rockwool and carpeted panels. MDF wheel arches in grey with 10" grey bulkhead incorporating sub. Interior LED lighting for camping, and blue LED dash lights which match headunit. Plywood bed which fits over wheel arches with storage under also included - just lifts in and out in two pieces to save storage space in garage. Always fancied carpeting everything in the rear, but then there are no tie down points for securing luggage and it takes a week to pick all the bits of foliage from the weave after you've put some hedge trimmings in to take to the tip, as apposed to a quick sweep as it currently is! Flooring is in excellent condition, was replaced by previous owner. Stays toasty at night if camping and insulation means road noise is same as a car when driving as apposed to the usual noisy van.

Dash is in great condition, front seats have no tears or stains and used with seat covers by me since day one.

Stereo
Additional Rainbow front door speakers fitted and upgraded dash speakers (£230), Kenwood head unit with iPod connectivity (£179), 12" Extreme sub in box (£190) firing into cab and very shiny Blaupunkt amp (£230) fitted under passenger seat. Speakers in doors run through amp with cross over and fused, ie properly and not having a amp running only a sub. Door speakers chosen for sound quality and cone shape, fitted on mdf rings to stop vibration and deformation. Dash speakers with tweeters bounce sound off windscreen.

Wheels
17" OZ Racing Michelangelo alloys (£900) with 225x50 tires (load rated). Two new front tires June 2011. Alloys have locking wheel bolts - tool in van. Also comes with a set of original Mercedes-Benz steels with excellent tires (+6mm all round), and full set of steel fixing bolts. Good spare also. Four wheel laser tracking and camber adjusted Dec 2011). Alloys are 10% oversized so speedo reads same as GPS, whereas with steel wheels its 10% under as with all other vehicles you will buy.

Original jack and wheel brace in original packaging.

Body
Metallic Silver with coded bumpers, twin side doors, much sort after tailgate for getting changed under and protects van from weather when its open unlike barn doors. Original Mercedes Mud flaps front and rear (£50) - fitted after respray to protect paint. Mercedes Main Dealer respray 14months ago.

Electrics
Electrics pack = electric windows with one touch operation, electric mirrors, heated mirrors, Traction Control, ABS, central locking all round (works flawlessly), trip computer, auxiliary heater. Newly fitted tow bar (Dec 2011) with twin electrics; can tow braked trailers (caravans) as well as un-braked trailers or bike racks etc. I had it fitted for bike rack, I've never towed anything with this van. Front and rear fog lights. Switch on dash to control rear lighting. Intermittent wipers with wash/wipe on the blades not crappy jets on the bonnet. Two original remote central locking keys which both work flawlessly.

Other
Tinted and heated rear window with wash/wipe. Wind deflectors fitted to front drivers and passenger doors. Black Bonnet bra.

Driving
Drives better than some cars, commanding road position and enough power to make driving a breeze. Handles and has better ride quality than transits, transporters etc - this includes the T4 & T5! Drivers seat has adjustable height, rake and back rest etc, not the usual limited seat found in other vans.

Bad bits
Some numpty caught the front bumper in Tesco car park a few months back (scuff to Drivers side near front wheel-see photo's) and there is minor cosmetic rust in a couple of spots. This is purely a cosmetic level as can be seen by the pictures its not noticeable, only when your waxing the van and close up do you notice it. Had a quote of £150 to fix the lot. Minor scuffs to one alloy - previous owner caught it on stones lining his drive. For the age, its in amazing condition.

Repetition!
Cheap to insure, great van choice for a conversion or to keep as is. I'd pop my stove and fridge in when I went away camping, then remove it all so it can be used as a van again the next day.

Full service history, by Mercedes then Independent Mercedes Commercial specialists since (Vancare, Leeds) or myself for oil, air & fuel filters etc. Always Mercedes original parts fitted, receipt's for pretty much every single thing, from wheel bolts to bulbs. Good on fuel, double timing chain, not a belt so no expensive changing. Does not burn ANY oil or water, runs like a dream. Last oil change at christmas and only 500 miles since. Had a complete new exhaust in the summer, so good for another 5 years!

Best van you'll get for the money, not to mention the upgrades. I sold my 2002 plate Vito two years ago to get this older van as its in excellent condition, and in much better condition than most new shape Vito's too!

Things I've done in the two years I've owned it are oil & filter changes and new exhaust, rear N/S wheel bearing (£14.50). The electric windows started playing up in the summer - wires pass through rubber gasket between doors and body of van and they had started to crack - so just had them all repaired at a cost of £168.00, including the heated and electrically adjusting mirrors, so all is dandy and works as it should. New windscreen (Autoglass through my insurance) April 2011 due to a big chip.

Three seater cab, always used seat covers since day one so interior is excellent. Heavy duty waterproof flooring was replaced by last owner so its in excellent condition. Wheel brace, jack and manuals all present.

Drives perfectly, has been all round Europe on road 5000mile road trips in summer 2010 and 2011 with no problems at all. Never broken down. Excellent in the snow last year being front wheel drive. Plenty of torque (I usually overtake lorries on A roads from 40-60 in 5th gear, will cruise at 80mph all day long if required, though I am a fan of 65 for fuel economy. Last rip around the alps laden with bikes and camping kit plus three people averaged out at 35mpg, which is better than some new vans. If you drive her carefully, she returns amazing MPG.

Comes with a rather large collection of silver polish, touch up sticks, wax, bulbs, manuals etc as my new van is blue and none of the spares fit it, so its all thrown in.

Reason for sale is the afore mentioned new larger van due next week, so need to move this beauty on pretty sharpish - the drive's not big enough! New van is also from a friend, and offered at a price I couldn't refuse so its time for PO51 to move on to pastures new.

Comes with original user manual, Headunit manual, Amp manual, original sales brochures and specification sheet etc. Pile of receipts and manuals weighs 2kg!

Viewing highly recommended, more pictures available just drop me an email.

Also comes with 5L of oil left from last oil change and 2x roof bars with surfboard pads.

Looking for about £4500 ONO. No VAT to be added. Payment as cash, bank transfer, bankers draft or personal cheque: preferred over Paypal as they take a big cut! Happy to do Paypal but buyer pays fee. Van not released until funds cleared. Price is set where it is as I think this fairly reflects the attention this van has had its whole life. Its not going to let you down, and needs no mechanical or electrical work doing whatsoever.

Call James on 07725 402 348 if interested, plenty of pics, just drop me a message and ask all the questions you want. Based in Leeds, UK. Happy to travel to deliver etc.

I want her to go to a good home, she's served me well.

Cheers

Jim

Nice write up there, hope it goes to owner who wud carefully look after it as long as you had it, lol
The question i will point out,... is these vitos may have a bad back ground for the body rust, but.... they very good on the run for mpg, i just cant beleave the what my van does now , it cheaper to run than my 19TDi VW running on SIX SPEED BOX !!!!!!, i use mine daily every day, and completely fault less, i keep it mantained by my self, good luck with ur sale jim,
