Smile 420SE

Hi again guys,
I may be looking to swap my 420SE for something a little more frugal - like a 190 diesel with a tow-bar, or a W124 estate.
I've attached some pictures of my car which I hope do it justice. There's a little rust in the usual places on the front wings, but other than that the bodywork is unsurprisingly straight.
I do need a new front offside ABS wheel sensor, which I hope will be fitted this week. Also I mentioned in an earlier thread a misfire which may well be an OVP relay, but again this will be resolved this week.
The vehicle has covered about 155k and is a 1991/J with 3 owners before me, all the same company/family. About 3 years ago the previous owners of the vehicle paid around £4000 to have the engine rebuilt. I don't have the invoice for this, but I don't doubt the extent of the work done as the car starts first time on the button and runs extremely well.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, maybe in a swap, or buying the car off me, please feel free to contact me. If you need to know anything else, let me know. Many thanks, and with all good wishes to you, Dave.Name: 1.jpg

Talking How much?

I will be honest I paid £1150 for the car in March 2011 and as this is obviously an appreciating classic I will want my money back which I think is fair. Many thanks.

Smile Update...

Hi guys I had my 420SE MoT'd yesterday and again she flew through without any advisaries whatsoever - not bad for a 21 year old car with 155k on the clock! Whilst the car was on the ramps I had a good gander underneath and she's like new with virtually no surface rust at all and all joints, bushes and gaiters/boots in A1 condition. She has certainly been well looked after! Having a new ABS wheel sensor fitted today and the vehicle is still available -swop or sale £1150. Thanks.

Talking Insurance

As I still intend to use the car I have been looking around for the best insurance renewal premium. I had been quoted £225 by Performance Direct which isn't bad for a Classic Car policy, however they were eclipsed by Peter Best who quoted an unbeatable £97 fully comprehensive! I am 44 years old with a single no-fault accident and an SP30. I also own a 1994 Volvo 850 T5 Turbo estate (seriously quick) and they quoted a fully comprehensive premium of £106. This has saved me in excess of £600 on insurance this year - when premiums are increasing by 30-40%. Two years ago I paid £240 for the Volvo, last year £440 and this year they wanted £600! The reasons they cited were a general increase in premiums (yeh right!) and the exponential rise in compensation claims - and I wonder who drives that then? B*llocks!!!
Can someone explain then why Peter Best can quote me £106 based upon the same mileage of 3000/annum? Anyway if anyone is looking to renew their insurance anytime soon I suggest you try Peter Best;
Tel 01376 574000 for standard policies and for Classics 01376 573033.

Smile 420SE with tax and 12 months MoT

Hi guys, my car is still for sale and now has full 12 months MoT and 4 months tax . The ABS problem has now been resolved - it was a relay in the ABS pump. Vehicle runs extremely well! Anyone interested please get in touch.
