Post 1972 R107 350SL

Have to sell my baby. Signal red, both tops, under 40k since mid 90's rebuild. This is an honest 1 condition on a scale from 1 to 6. This is an early US model and runs verry well - not afraid to take it on a cross country trip! It needs to go from my fun car to a collector/occasional driver. Savannah GA region. SERIOUS inquiries only - not giving this away. If you want a junker, go shell out $8k for a junker! Pictures and details available.

If you want serious inquires, be a serious seller. What price are you asking? How many miles on the chassis? What records do you have? Who has serviced the vehicle? Do you have paperwork on the rebuild and the details for said rebuild?
Good luck with your sale.

Hey Gimpy,

You post one lousy picture and a half assed description.

He offers suggestions to help you sell your vehicle and you are calling him a troll?!

Lets be direct...

Mileage?

Records?

And god forbid...

Price?

$8k will buy you a pretty damn nice 107 these days - like a 72 350SL. May want to do some market research before you price it, if you want to sell it that is.

I have been a member of this forum for getting close to 10 years. In that time I have helped and received help from many other members of this forum. I am, by no means, as you put it-a troll.
If you are incapable of taking advice on selling your vehicle maybe you should consider taking it elsewhere. In fact, a good friend of mine has been looking at R107's off and on for the last couple of years. As per your comments, I have no interest in your vehicle although I was interested at first.
However I still wish you the best of luck with your sale. Hopefully instead of taking the offensive you will become a contributing member of this site instead of looking at it as a sales avenue of your R107.

Mike

Grumpy,

I think you're trying to hide something and not just the chassis mileage and price. Can't put my finger on it just yet though. Gut feeling.

Well, since he wants higher than the average market value for his r107, let's not beat around the bush and start tearing his car apart. Am I right?

- wrong wheels for a 72 (or any r107 really)
- antenna in wrong location for a 72
- wrong front bumper for an early US model (so either it's a euro or it's been in an accident)

Don't get me wrong. It looks like a nice car, but if we are left to make assumptions, we've only got a single picture to go by, and no other information about the car.

Just bustin' your chops gumpy.

EDIT: P.S. Original stainless wiper blade covers are replaced with black. Any maybe that's not the antenna in the back, but something in the background of the picture. And it looks like it has more modern visors on it with a mirror on the driver side visor. (My 73's got nothin')
