I am selling the complete used air meter assembly from my 1986 190e 2.3-16 with 134,xxx miles on it. VIN # available upon request. Includes air flow meter, potentiometer, boot, fuel distributor, etc... (but not the EHA). The unit is in very good working condition. I replaced it with a complete assembly from a 30k mile 16v in hopes of solving my 3-5 second cranking times (I'm picky). It didn't change those, so I guess my problem lies elsewhere (here's the discussion thread
if you have suggestions). My car runs marginally smoother with the new assembly, but probably no one but me would notice. So I take it that this original one is really working fine. I thought about keeping it as a spare, but I could use the cash. Great if your fuel dizzy it crapping out or whatever.
The potentiometer does have a typical "dead spot" from normal wear, but like I said it doesn't really affect performance. Idles smooth too. Nevertheless, I will also include an eBay replacement potentiometer that I bought but did not install (as you know, potentiometer replacement on the 16v is a little trickier than others). The boot is in perfect shape with zero cracks or tears.
I'm asking $240 shipped obo for everything, or local pickup in SoCal. This is less than the core charge
for one of these fuel distributors alone. Please post or PM if interested.
I did not clean the unit for the photos, so you know exactly what you're getting. Should clean up nice though:
