FS: Parting 91 300D 2.5

In a sad sequence of events, the head gasket on this car blew, and the low coolant sensor failed, leading to an overheating incident which cracked the head.

After much thought and pain, I have decided to part the car out. I would be willing to let the whole car go for the right price, though a few things have already been sold, such as the vacuum pump, right fender, and mufflers.

The highlight of this car is the transmission, which was resealed and completely updated by See's MB about 10,000 miles prior to the head cracking, and has about 100,000 total miles on it. Drove beautifully.

Car is Silver (paint still glossy) and interior is light grey.

Car is in Raleigh NC, USA (27615). Let me know what you need and we'll work out a price.

parts

Hello,
Sorry to hear about your diesel I had a simular problem with mine and I had the head repaired at a company called "Tri State Cylinder head" they welded the head back together and restore it to origional factory dimensions for about $650.00
I rebuilt the engine and transmission and the car runs like new.

If you still are looking to sell parts I really need to get the antinoise capsule front and rear.
this is the plastic parts under the engine and transmission. and a few other odds and ends.
My zip code is 29449

I tried asking around to get places to repair it, and no one that came with a good recommendation in the Raleigh area would take the job on. It was sad too, I had changed the wastegate to an SDL wastegate (thanks to a post on another forum) and was getting 0-60 times right around 10 sec.

I replied to your email about parts

Interested in your transmission/torque converter (they need to stay together) - power steering pump and some odds and ends. I have a 93 300d and I beleive the parts are interchangable. I would pick up there but would need them out of the car.

I look forward to your response.

There's no reason that the trans and TC need to stay together, in fact you're better off separating them and renewing the seal.

BRM5985 -- I sent you an email.

Babymog -- I apologize for being so slow with the bumper, I've been out of town and had family in the hospital. On my way to try to get supplies to ship it.

Gabe ion -- I sent you an email as well.

And since this was the second request for the plastic cover under the engine, I'll say this publicly: it was missing when I bought the car.

Here are the pictures of the headlights and grill.

Astute observers may notice that the grill picture is from a maroon car, that is because the grill from the 91 looks just a bit better than the one on my wife's 87 (the maroon one) so I'll sell the grill off of the maroon 87.

Feel free to email or PM an offer on them.
