Post What do you think?

Just like almost everyone on the site I am a Mercedes Benz enthusiast. We all have to buy or sell a Mercedes-Benz at some point. When that time comes we think on posting our cars on Autotrader or similar sites which cost money. Or we have a free alternative called craigslist that is hard to navigate and full of spam. Hoping that I can change this I have set up a classified ads site for the Mercedes Benz enthusiast. It's set up only for Benz and with the idea in mind that it would be easy to navigate through. Plus it's all free.
The site is for anyone who is looking to buy or sell a Mercedes Benz. If you are reading this I would ask that you take a look at the website and comment if you like functionality and the idea. Your suggestion is greatly appreciated.
-Let me know your feedback on the site.
-Also if you have any suggestion on how to spread the word and make the site known to others.

*Feel free to post on the site if you are selling one.

Thanks in advance.

Might want to make it so you can search for specific models... not just by class.

May i suggest some way to sort by region, so you could see what's for sale in your area.

^ what SPVFD47 said, a sorting by chassis such as W126, W123, R129, etc. in both cars for sale and parts would be helpful, also the possibility to sort by private listings...personally I cannot stand shifting through all the overpriced consignment and dealership crap

1990 300TE 4MATIC Japanese-spec - 74,000 mi
1995 E300 Diesel - 327,000 mi
1983 250 German-spec - 227,000 mi

1994 E320 Wagon
1990 300E 2.8

+1 for what was all said above. If it is geared just to Benz people it should be assumed they all at least somewhat know their stuff so separating by chassis, location and parts/driver would attract a lot more people I think.

It does get very annoying searching for say, a 500 SEL w126, and most of the ads coming up are for w140 500 SEL's. Do it once and you get over it, but many Benz geeks might look almost every other day to see what may pop up and it gets annoying. Or looking for a w126 420 and seeing lots of s420's etc. etc. etc. They are all S class but very different markets.

It would be nice to have something like this that isn't like a Hemmings sort of thing where everything is overpriced or painfully expensive because it is a rarity ... but a good mix of drivers, collectors and parts cars.

But looks like it could end up being very cool!

Thank you for the input.

First, thank you all for the suggestions.

I would like to address some comments here.

- I was initially thinking to sort by chassis number but wasn't sure of all the trims that came with every chassis. And during what years each chassis was produced. Since it's suggested here several times I can work on implementing that.
Can someone point me to a source that includes all MB chassis numbers, years produced and trims for each chassi? For example I need to know all W210 built from 1996-2002, trims (E320 E420 E430 E55 etc.)

- I like the suggestion that someone should be able to sort by region. At this point someone can click on the state and see all the cars on that state. Or do a search by zip code once you click on one of the categories. I would have to look more into this as it would take some time to do exactly what you suggest and I think that's a good idea.

- So I enjoy doing this site and I am not looking for anything in return. I appreciate all your inputs. My big question though is how can I make the site more popular so more people know and use it?

Thanks again.

Can't. Go wrong with a brand specific forum.
