Hey thanks, I did paint the grille myself. It's a very easy DIY job. I'm sure by now you've probably done a search on how to paint your grille and such but let me just tell you that proper preparation and many many light coats of paint is key to a successful long lasting paint job when it comes to painting most things.
After I took the grille insert out I brushed it and cleaned it thoroughly with a powerful degreaser. Rinsed it good and let it dry. I lightly sanded it down and then rinsed it one more time and let it dry completely. I used Krylon fusion gloss to paint the grille since you can directly spray it to the grille instead of putting a primer then paint. I put on about 15-20 VERY light coats of paint allowing about 10-15 minutes between coats for it to dry. Just be sure to spray the grille at every angle so you can cover all areas.
If I had a white SEL I would probably paint the grille a dark gray instead of black. Either way it'll look better than stock. Good luck buddy.
