WANTED: W210 1996-97 Turn Signal Assembly

Yet another piece of stupid-ass Teutonic plastic has failed on my otherwise strong E320. The cross-pin holding the turn signal stick into the internal assembly has vanished after the black plastic with the mount holes broke under not just normal but rather gentle use.

I'd just glue the trim cover in place and live with the floppy forward into the high beam position, but the high beams are permanently on despite my efforts to fiddle with the internals, and I really don't want to disconnect those high beams altogether. Besides, that solution is just too ghetto.

So, who has one or can point me to where can I get one? I don't relish the thought of disassembling anything plastic on that interior like that steering column/under-dash trim, but my vast experience with adhesives and bolstering inadequately-designed stuff from all over the world should make any new problems fixable.

$102 new at rmeuropean.com:

Mercedes Combination Switch Turn Signal/Dimmer Windshield Wiper/Washer Headlight Washer 210540014405 - RM European Auto Parts

It's not that bad to change it, there is a DIY in the W210 stickies.

Hope you're staying cool, it's been a hot summer there!

Good luck.

(PS: I'd avoid the URO aftermarket one at autohausaz.com, that brand doesn't seem to have very good quality.)

And cool to see from the DIY sticky that there is no removal of the underdash panel. Just pulling the steering wheel. Suspected that when I saw the round "strap"/hole in the replacement unit.

After seeing the terms used for the part name, I did a quick search on eBay Motors and found an aftermarket and a USED one for only a few dollars less, and many for more and even a LOT more coin. AFAIC, the person with the used one has a lot of nerve.

That said, I'd prefer to buy first from a fellow Forum Member, so I'm not ordering tonight. A little search of this sub-forum didn't reveal any recent FS posts for this part, or even a recent W210 part-out. I could be wrong, by Search-fu is sometimes a bit off.
