FS 1992 500E 60K miles $22,500

Due to my daughters sports activities, and a general lack of time to enjoy what has always been my "dream car", I am offering this for sale, and hoping that it can go to a fellow Mercedes enthusiast who will cherish, use, and appreciate this, as it deserves. My father always had Mercedes, and I grew up with a revolving door of different models he would get. My favorite was a 1969 300SEL 6.3. The smell of the leather, and the looks we would get when my dad would (only if I begged) humble a unsuspecting Camaro or Mustang at a stoplight..riding in that car were some of my fondest memories of time with my dad. I always told myself I would get one someday. As time, college, marriage, and kids swept by, I never did find a 6.3, but luckily did find a "modern" version, my current 500E from a local Physician in South Texas. He was meticulous with this car, spared no expense in its upkeep, and though I have only put approx 3000 miles on the odometer since 2007, it has been a joy, and wonderful experience to own. I would classify the Parchment Leather interior as pretty close to "perfect". Never smoked in, still "smells new"..All interior functions operating flawless. The Artic White exterior is also in great shape, with minor road dings that I have never bothered to repair. Mechanically, it has had its 60,000 mile service, and it drives great. I have never drove any other 500E's, so I have no comparison to make, but it is quiet, drives straight down the road, and has no leaks of any kind. I feel this car needs nothing for the next owner to enjoy. I have all Books and Records, receipts for work done by previous owners (I have done only an oil service in my 4 years, and 3000 miles)..and the original window sticker.
I hesitate in selling this, because I know I will never get this car back. Four years ago, I would never even consider it, but life changes, kids have become teenagers..and rather than just pay insurance for a car that sits, why not let it go to someone who has the time for enjoyment?
I am located in Texas Hill Country, in between Austin, and San Antonio. Feel free to contact me with any interest, or questions you might have.
thanks

Im already "sorry" and it has not even sold yet. Just hope it goes to a good home. Win/win situation for me, as I honestly will not be upset if it stays put..wife and family be Damned
BTW..that large screen is a Mercedes Benz Navigation unit..among the many options that previous owner had done.

Welcome, fellow Texan. Nice car; your price is good and the quality looks good. Make sure you put it on New Cars, Used Cars - Find Cars at AutoTrader.com and post it in as many MB sites as you can (including 500Espot.com • Index page). It'll take some time, but you should find a buyer. Nice car; needs better pictures without the 'fog' - exterior, underhood, interior.

Thanks Brian..(and Komrade, "yes" it is a Navigation unit "that even talks from Mercedes)..I actually did put it on 500espot..a super nice guy saw my ad on local CL, and steered me in the right direction. Had trouble posting pics on that site. Basically I am pretty much a "rookie" on message boards, but I'll get better!

Hahahahaha! The cat would match the car color! It was a very tough decision between "Blofeld" and "Scaramanga"..but the memory of Donald Pleasance's masterful performance clinched the decision!

Thought I would mention two trade scenarios I may be willing to consider, for those interested. In addition to my family not really appreciating the 500E, I have always been nervous and wary to drive it much, due to it's low miles and condition. Wife and kids are trying to convince me that a corvette would be a nice weekend fun car, while I would prefer a 500SL. If anybody has a mid-late 90's Corvette, or 500SL and would be interested in acquiring my 500E..these would be my prerequisites for any potential deal:
1) the car (like mine) would need to have zero problems or issues of any kind. Does not have to be perfect, but just a very nice vehicle in need of nothing serious or urgent.
2) the car must be a non-smoker vehicle.
3) the car must not be green or gold. Any other color would be considered.
I would like to get at least 10K cash in a deal such as this, however that amount could be open to negotiation depending on the car. Not looking for a newer model of comparable value to mine..just interested in a reliable weekend fun car to enjoy, and not just sit like the 500E has. For corvette's, would strongly prefer a C5 series 1998-2000 in a manual transmission. As far as a 500SL..I mentioned mid-late 90's..would also consider early 90's or early 2000's depending on conditon etc..
Thanks
