I'm sure this car will find someone who loves it as much as we do. It's super sharp inside and out and huge fun to drive. I took it out to run errands today and four people stopped to tell me they loved my car. When you roll the windows down and the sunroof back it feels like a convertible.
It is a German version and the dash is in German. I have a manual in English.
The vehicle was a one owner car when I found it. The owners bought it new in Hawaii for nearly $60K. It was the wife's car. For most of the last 25 years, the car has been garaged in AZ. There is no rust at all that I could find. There must have been some period of time that the car was not garaged because the dash was cracked and covered with a permanent dash cover that was done very well. I'm disclosing this even though I didn't even notice it until after I bought it. Otherwise, the interior is in good shape. The leather is free of cracks and looks very good. The fabric ceiling liner is a little dirty (not bad in my view) and I'm sure it could be cleaned - I just don't know how to do it.
For the last 6 years, the car was garaged as the wife was gravely ill. The husband said he drove it occasionally to keep the car in good shape. I took it to my mechanic for a check up. He drained the old fuel from the tank and checked all the belts and hoses for me and gave me the all clear.
The husband said an angry family member had keyed the car and he didn't have it insured at the time so he never fixed it. I should have photographed the scratches before I had them fixed - they were pretty deep. The paint job my guy did was fantastic. I was nervous about getting it done because I hate the orange peel look of most body work paint jobs but I can't tell the difference now between the panels that were painted and those that weren't. I took it to a friend's today who is a used car dealer and he looked it over (not knowing I'd had anything done to it) and he thought it was the original paint. Maybe an expert could see the difference, but for the life of me I sure can't.
When I drive this car, I feel like I'm driving a car that's been truly loved.
The car is located about 20 minutes from beautiful Sedona, Arizona. Buy it and take it for a road trip!
