Arrow WANTED 82-85 300tdt WAGON low miles

Just as the title states.

I'm looking for a low milage 82-85 wagon. (85 non-CA) federal cars only please. It needs to be in very good condition both cosmetically and mechanically with no rust.

Avoiding CA 1985 cars is irrational. You can get rid of the parts you don't like and you get a better automatic transmission.

Currently: 1967 250 SL, 1963 220Sb, 1965 300SE Lang, 1971 280SE parts car, 1972 Alfa GTV, 1965 Alfa Duetto, 1993 BMW R100R
Past: 1971 250 C, 1985 300 TD, 1967 250 S, 1968 280 S,1981 300 D, 1982 280CE, 3 Facel Vegas, Borgward Isabella Coupe, Alfa 2600 Sprint, Volvo P1900 (yes), numerous less interesting Volvos, ...

If I do that I would still be stuck with the weaker transmission. Correct ?

Weaker transmission ? ! ? ! Uh, not to my knowledge. 1985 was the first of the 722.4xx (722.416 in the wagon) transmissions. The 722.4 series is used subsequently for many years. I have no reason to think that it is "weaker" than the 722.3xx transmissons. Does anyone else know anything about this?
