I think I asked this before. To the original installer, what was the desired purpose of adding the nitrous? If I went to the bother of a nice clean installation I'd sure want to see if it works, otherwise it's just an expensive conversation piece.

I "think" the original installer wanted th nitrous so that they could use it if they felt like it. If you're so curious about the nitrous setup, why don't you buy the car?

I am not trying to challenge you or be rude in any way, that being said, it seems to me that your asking price of $6,000 is too high. The car has been for sale for quite a while now, and I think the reason has to be your "firm" price. These wagons when they are clean and stock(more desirable) sell for $4,500-$5,500 with a lot less miles. In your ad you say the exterior looks like 50k miles, but when I looked at the detailed pictures your car shows quite a bit of wear, dents and dings. The interior looks like it could use some help also. I know you are probably thinking that the C36 motor, the lowered suspension and the other aftermarket bits will help the car sell, but in this case, I don't think it has. The nitrous scares people. You could probably sell the car pretty quick at around $4,000-$4,500...I speak from experience, as I was a car dealer specializing in unique Euro cars for 20 years. Anyway, sorry if I came off arrogant or all knowing, but your car has been for sale for quite a while, and I thought I would throw my two cents in By the way, if you were closer to Seattle, I would try and take it off your hands...I still mess with unique cars in my spare time. Very cool car

Thanks, it may be worth 4500 to you since you would probably resell it being a car dealer that you are. In sorry but I'm working in a private party to party market. The car us unique, there is no denying it. And it has been very tastefully modified. The car isn't for everyone. Sure you can by a standard e320 estate with less mileage, but the car is just that, a standard e320 wagon just like everything else. Dont forget that the great e36 wagon offered by AMG themselves was of m103 nature. And my car us sporting the vastly superior m104 series engine.

The cat is not perfect, I've always disclosed the flaws. If it was perfect it could be worth easily over $10k. You cannot get this kind of "bang for the buck" in terms of performance, reliabilty, and space. And this is a BENZ.

Great 1st post btw.

I closed my dealership 2 years ago and I am no longer a car dealer. I agree with you that the car is very unique and cool, but it was mainly condition I was talking about. I always had trouble selling cars that were tricked out, especially with motor swaps(even though I like what you did). Anyway, cool car...wish you were closer.

The condition isn't horrible, it's been daily driven. And it's a rust free body. It's always annoying when people say, " I wish you were closer." Because if they were actually interested, a plane ticket is very affordable. "I wish you were closer" usually means, " I'm not looking to buy, but I wish you were closer so I could take it for a joy ride."

If you really, really want to sell the car at your asking price, I highly suggest getting it fully cleaned up, much better pictures, and extensive history detailed. That will go a long way in getting your full asking price, if you can back everything up with a-plus looks, and documentation to go along with it. Best of luck in your sale.

You need to put that car on ebay.

I think its pretty cheap to list now. "Sleeper Benz Wagon" or some such banner. Tons of pics (especially of the NOS), heck go put it on a dyno & fill the bottle first.

On the forums, the majority of the times, you'll end up with people with more time than cash. I think you need it the other way round, more cash than time. Tuner MB's are always like that.

If I didn't have 6 cars I'd be banging down your door. The thought of my misssus in a 275hp wagon with a 100hp nitrous shot (I'd fill the botle obviously) makes me laugh my head off... Hell I'd buy that M104 turbo kit thats floating around on the forums too!!.

Lots of luck.

David's probably right about ebay. It's my perception that this forum is generally populated by folks who know a lot about MBs. It is generally true that modified cars will only appeal to a small segment of the enthusiast population and you're more likely to find that person on ebay. One tip. "Was $6500 firm, now $6000 firm" means that $6000 is not firm. good luck.
