1987 300E $600 in CT

Hi Everyone- this would be perfect for an existing 300E owner. The car needs some work, but the engine is very strong. The car idles perfect, starts right away, and has good power. I would think the wheels alone would be half the asking price. Email me at ccrelan@aol.com

The car is in Norwalk, CT. I have all receipts for work done in the last four years or so. Lots of new parts with documentation. Bring cash and pick her up!

"These cars are the cockroaches of the car world"

Don't believe I've read as good a Craigs ad in awhile.

BUMP for the laugh-line

Thanks for the compliment Mr Bits. Frankly, I am surprised the car hasn't sold yet.

What else can you buy at this price point? Looking for a good home. This car would be a gold mine for someone already with a 300e or who knows their way around these cars.

If it was closer to me I would pick it up in a heart beat. Unfortunately it's a long way away

Could you elaborate a bit on the "some work" that it needs? Just give me 2 or 3 things you think are the most important.

The rear tires are completely bald and it needs a fan clutch. Those would be the two biggest things in my opinion.

Here is the text from the CL ad:

Hi Everyone- I am helping out a friend sell his car. I encouraged him to get this car about 4 years ago. Just this past week, we found him another cream puff 1987 300e to replace this one. With a little bit of work, you could have a sweet German cruiser. These were the pinnacle of Mercedes engineering. The car had come from a good home when he bought the car and was well maintained to that point. My friend just kept up with the basic stuff and ignored the non essential issues. The car is sitting in Norwalk, CT. Looking for quick sale with cash. Show up and be serious.

Here is the bad: bad rear tires , bad rear brakes, oil leak because of bad drain plug, needs fan clutch, sun roof broken, rear windows don't work, bad relay/sensor for left rear lights, brake and blinker, AC no go, clear coat is shot on roof

Good: Engine runs very strong. has bigger 16" merc wheels, rare rear spoiler, receipt history of oil changes and other work done over last 4 years, newer battery, alternator, thermostat, radiator, front tires, alignment and rear shocks. Dash is uncracked and interior is very presentable. Decent CD player.

Car has been driven long distances between Long Island and South FL last 4 years and never let him down. Its a W124! These cars are the cockroaches of the car world- you can't kill them. You could part this car out for more than I am asking for it.

Too bad I didn't catch him when he was in FL with it. It looks like I couldn't drive it all the way here (FL) as-is & it costs too much to have it shipped. Oh well.

Guys- have to move this car. Benzworld special liquidation super special price of $400.

Car starts on first click of the key and drives very strong. The rear spoiler and the wheels have to be worth a few hundred clams.

Please save me from the Craigs list responders!
