WANTED: M103 or M104 Single Mass Flywheel

I know, I know...like impossible to find, but I at least have to put the request out there.

I have a complete '86 W201 2.3L 8V 5 speed as a donor car.... looking to do an auto to manual swap into a '93 W201 2.6L automatic.

I'm pretty sure the only part I'll need is a single mass flywheel from any standard shift car that had an M103 or M104 engine.

PLEASE contact me if you have one!

Just FYI, Mercedes has a limited supply of single mass flywheels. They made a batch of about 85 or so flywheels in 2007. Who knows if they're still there or not. Cost is around $350

Just thought I'd let you know.

They are not available from Mercedes--people have checked. I have two of them myself. One of them was originally 21 lbs, and was professionally reduced to 17 lbs by an expert machinist. The other one is stock weight. I'd take $500 for the stock weight one, or $650 for the lightened one. These are both single mass wheels off 190e 2.6 manual trans models.

Yes they are available and for those prices you can have a custom one made.

Good luck having a single mass flywheel of the exact specs as stock made for that much. You couldn't even pay someone to set up a CNC machine to make the first flywheel for that price. Anyone else who is actually serious about getting a flywheel rather than arguing about availability can see this thread:

hey guys, thanks for the replies

I know these things are like lizard fur and I'm probably going to end up paying dearly for a flywheel, but I have a heck of a time justifing a $500 flywheel for a car I spent $400 to aquire .... not saying I think that's too much...just that I'm sorta a tightwad (by necessity) so I'd have a hard time coming to terms with that purchase.

I'm going to have to do some serious boneyard searching so I can at least say I tried before I break down and pay through the nose for a flywheel. Could very well be I'm making a mistake and just wasting my time trying to save a few bucks, but I gotta try... got more mouths to feed than my own ya know.

Anyone feeling charitable?

Definitely, there are far cheaper parts to be had you just have to keep an eye out for the parts.

Just keep your eyes peeled on german or UK ebay's and you should find one after a few months.
