RobTheMod:

I realize the offset is way different from the 23mm that is standard for a 6.5" rim, and I've seen ET11 is the offset used for even wider wheels. But don't you think these would be just fine with hub-centric spacers?

Just curious since you are a fellow 107 owner.

I'll be in Phoenix in March for about a week, and probably have a layover there next week too.

I'm not shopping hard for Pentas right now, but would jump on a good deal if one came up. I really do prefer the Gen1 Pentas though.

It's nice that these look clean. I hope they end up on Renato's car.

Whoops! Yes, I think that if you are OK with spacers (some aren't) then there's no reason not to try these. In actuality, the reason they're not going on my 107 is that my wife likes the 15" Centras better that are already on the 380SL. Also the SL has nearly new 15" tires, so there's no real reason for me to go through the trouble of spacers etc, for that.

I am still thinking about putting them on my W123 300TD but am unsure enough of that to have them on the market instead. If you're planning on being in Phoenix, you're welcome to check them out!

Ok, so Im back to being interested.

What size spacer are needed here?
I already have 15" x 7J alloys that fit fine on the SL.
FS: W124/201 AMG Penta 16x7.5 set of 4-img00249-20101213-1516.jpg

Would I also need to put spacers in the rear end ??

For the price, I am willing to try it.

I wouldn't. You'd need 20mm spacers (not the best way to go) and even then you'd barely be where you want to be (22mm). If you're looking for a more aggressive look, more so than your 15's, I think an ET of 11-17 would great depending on width.

Wow, 20mm !! Really?? Shit, that's a lot !!
Question: Even with Ate calipers ?? I undestand it's the Benix calipers that give so much trouble.

Yup. Im talking about the offset you'd be looking to get, clearing the caliper is another thing. You could probably get away with a smaller spacer but the rim wouldnt fill out the wheel well as much as you'd like it to. If you don't mind a more stock inset look then you'd be fine (with a 6.5" wide wheel it would sit a good deal inwards).

Thanks for the info. I guess I am just pushing this penta thing too much. Yeah these are probably best for an earlier model SL.

I do have one more option:
15x7 5x112 66.6 Hub bore for Mercedes Ronal (R9) ET35

Your comments are appreciated. Thanks.
