Post FS 1985 190 D 147K miles

For Sale 1985 190D Mercedes Benz $1699.00 OBO, battle ground, Indiana
4 door sedan, automatic, 147,544 miles, 35-42 mpg, diesel fuel, starts great all year, no rust except for a tiny bubble on rear door panel, newish tires, good tread, blue color, electric windows, new radio, good brakes, good glass, electric adjust mirror on passenger door, manual on driver side, electric sunroof, power locks, transmission filter and fluid change 5K miles ago, new engine mounts, new glow plugs, good and quick heat, have owned for 2 years or so, have to look at title to be sure as well for the milage I put on it. I am selling because I don’t need 3 cars!

History of 190D’s: The “d” stands for diesel. Only about 11,500 were build and sold in the USA in 1984-85 or so. The manual verison got 49MPG. The auto version has a bit different gear set up so it seems, is a little more powerful. A trade off for economy. Didn’t fly because the market was geared and gearing up for bigger cars and big engines with power. Fuel was cheap. The series made lots of the 190E’s which is the gas version before and after the “D” series.

The ailments of this car. Antenna doesn’t retract all the way. Modern radio works fine. Automatically continues to extend all the way. Passenger side window does not work. Don’t know if it is the switch, motor or, wiring. AC needs to be recharged. it worked last summer. Dash has some cracking from the sun...common issue with this cars. Turn signals work but no longer return to off so you have to remember manually do that. Small push in on trunk lid with damaged trim. Hood symbol broken off. Small oil leak from somewhere front passenger side of engine. It is not the front or rear seals. Irritating but I put up with it.

Misc. This car has had B100 run in it....that is 100% biodiesel...what it does is to flush the fuel system meaning you have to change the filters till it clears up. You are all set to go. Thanks, jbmiller00@comcast.net
