His Ad. Only $13,900.00. Dreamer. Mike is correct. Only an 026 might bring that kind of money in the US.

Collector's Dream - 4.5 liter V8, fuel injection, auto transmission, power moon roof, AC, AM/FM, Kenwood Stereo, very clean interior, freshly painted original color, Pirelli tires with 90% tread, new battery, garage kept, just had tune up, ready to ride-must see!

This car is a collector's item. Only 2282 manufactured in the last year of production. Owner purchased for 17K years back and has passed away. All serious offers only.

Just not my thing. I appreciate what it is of course but for the money I'd pick something else.

Cheers

I really hope that photo with the door being a different shade from the rest of the car was taken prior to the paint job!

Perhaps but the SEC is a much better care in every way and as far as I know, has little if nothing in common with the SLC.

My purpose is my original response wasn't to trash the SLC but to point out the the SLC will always be a "lower car". Here in the U.S., are they all not gray market? MB didn't bring it here for a reason. Just sayin'
Most SLCs with the notable exception of the 500SLC were not gray market cars. They were replaced in '82 lineup with the SEC.

If the SEC is a better vehicle, and it's certainly a larger vehicle, it's probably because it's a 10 year newer chassis.

BTW, Brucemendel, I for one love your AMG SLC. I feel like I'm in the minority in prefering the white monochrome over the black.

You should probably sell it to Rowdie to give him a matched SL / SLC pair.

Alan
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyhow.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford it right now. I would have to get rid of two SLs first.

...or you could charge a hefty pre-registration fee for the Spring 2011 GTG!

Damn, those two cars would look good together.

^+1 on that, I am not a huge fan of the SLC but that one (and bruiser) is SWEET!!!
Rowdie, time to second mortgage the farm. Those two BELONG together, not to mention the fact that I'd bet it was a rare circumstance to have a one owner SL/SLC AMG combo...

In any case, I PERSONALLY would be extremely weary and critical before buying from a member who only registered to sell his car. The OP just registered and only has one post which is this one. However, I would definitely buy from a long term, established member here.

The SLC supposedly handled better and drove tighter than the SEC. I guess I could understand that.

There is a really nice one in Phoenix with 39k original miles. Looks VERY good and asking only $9k. I'm not sure if that is a good price for that car but for the miles and condition, if someone is looking for a nice SLC here is the posting on CL.
