WTB: W123 WAGON FUEL TANK (for '85 300TDT)

Hi all:

I have been driving around my '84 300TDT for 5 or 6 years.. I had picked it up for $1200 and got it mechanically sound and it's been my "truck" for all these years - I love that car. So finally, I decided it was time to upgrade and get a mint 300TDT to reward myself. I found a beautiful Euro '85 in Florida, and flew down and drove it back the weekend before last.

Not a thing wrong with the car... EXCEPT.. it gets 6 or 7 gallons down on fuel from a full tank and won't run over 65 mph - which sounds like a fuel filter, except if I fill the tank back up, the problem goes away... until I get 6 or 7 gallons down. Absolutely recreate-able.

So I peek under the rear end and it looks like the fuel tank has bottomed out on a couple of boulders... seriously large dents in it. The theory is the tube inside the tank is cracked and sucking air when the fuel gets low enough.

Unfortunately I am having no luck finding a replacement tank. The pick-a-part yards punch holes in all their vehicle tanks and the smaller yards don't have any wagons. I'm just about to rob the 1984 for its tank and then part out what is a perfect running car (but has cosmetic issues) just for the fuel tank.

Anyone got a better solution for me? Obviously the thing would have to be shipped Greyhound or similar, so a tank near Atlanta that I could pick up would be best. I can get the tank dunked for free, so I don't mind a nasty tank with critters - it just must be DAMAGE FREE - no dents, no tweaked pipes, etc. I don't even need a strainer - I've got my own

I'm not a tire kicking, window shopper. I have cash money and it's heart breaking to see this beautiful car sitting up on jack stands.
