Selling My 1977 450 SEL 6.9 125000Miles

Good afternoon Benz lovers I have up for sale in original condition a 1977 450 SEL 6.9L sedan. This was one of the very limited North American models and the car is in original condition. I purchased the car from the 3rd owner who had purchased it after the 2nd owner imported the car to Canada from California.

I have verified all the vin chassis and engine codes with MB Classics and will provide full data cards and original owners manuals with the purchase of the car. Currently I am having the car appraised and will post pictures shortly. If you are interested I am asking 15000 OBO please message me to inquire or call direct 403-889-1046.

Thanks

Did you ever sell?

I remember this car from the movie RONIN. (I have the DVD)
Staring Robert DeNiro. They used a 500E as a camera car to film most the chase scenes.

Spoiler alert:
On that second video "BMW vs Peugeot" skip to the last few seconds to see that it only takes a flat tire on the BMW to make the Peugeot win.

There's no MB in that video anyway.

.

My signature:
Click for list of my 32 MB since 2010. If, you want 70's-80's Mercedes tuner wheels, let me know.

Well that's for the sake of the movie plot. In reality the Peugeot couldn't keep up with an M5 for obvious HP differences (though some scenes they used some non MPower "535i" versions to bang up)

The second video doesn't have a MBZ in it, though they used a 500E as the camera car.

500e in action. Awesome car, to say the least.

Hopefully no one got ripped off buying this fake 6-9.

From what's been written, the director in Ronin took precautions to make sure the brown car wasn't totally destroyed; awesome chase.

My 2 cents: NOT TRYING TO interfere at all just to enlighten but by serial number 116 033.. and photo of engine this car IS NOT A 6.9 engined car. 6.9's VIN is 116 036... engine has much larger heads and hydraulic suspension oil pump and tank.

Certified W116 6.9 nut and director John Frankenheimer's car (also turbo charged) featured in a number of movies, and might be the turbo charged 6.9 of Mr Eddy (Robert Loggia) in David Lynch's 'Lost Highway?'

The speedometer only reads 160mph too

Cluster from my old 6.9

OT somewhat, but... I'm also a big fan of the film Ronin.

"I hurt someone's feelings once"

Quite a few of the shots in the chase closely follow those created in the Steve McQueen film Bullitt. The original, and still one of the most exciting car chase scenes ever filmed.

Not a big fan of fake 6.9's, though...
