people should know that if some one wants less than 5,000 bucks for his car its a piece of crap, and should be off the street..(you should be on the honda forum). i know what my car is worth..plus if you ever seen a mercedes from the in side they all look the same..poor people should not buy mercedes as a fixer upper anyways.
ass..blue book..for mine is 14k.
Why bother trying to sell it here in the first place? The routine expected sales ad includes;
1 - Pictures that truefully show the car off, including it's weaknesses.
2 - A good description of the car, including milage and items that need attention
3 - A few words on how the car was maintained throughout it's life
4 - An asking price is helpful
When asked to detail up, and the seller just balks, red flags go up everywhere
So let me help you include some info a potential buyer might be interested in..
Dec. 2008 - Seller reports he's owned the car for 4 years with no problems, 130,000 miles on the car at that time
Dec. 2008 - Seller reports he has one speeding ticket and pays $1500 for ins every 6 months---hmm your right, poor people shouldn't own the benz
Dec. 2008 - Seller wants to know if snow is bad for a Benz? (I think old man Daimler just rolled over in his grave..lol)
Apr 2009 - Seller reports he has installed new rear lights and actually includes the first posted picture of the car after 5 years of ownership
Sept. 2009 - Seller wants to know if it's OK to put "Z Max" in the engine and transmission
Sept. 2009 - Seller reports 21-22 mpg mixed driving, also reports he has 20 " rims
Nov. 2009 - Seller reports he has owned 3 benz, the other two are, (were?), a E320 and a CLK320 conv.
Feb. 2010 - Sellers quote follows - "i need a true or false.. is it true that if you drain all the tranny fluid out and replace it with new oil..it will probably ruin the tranny...that a good idea would be to take out 3 quarts and replace 3 quarts every other month till all oil is somewhat new...a mb mechanic told me that.." Is everyone feeling the love and care this car is getting yet?
Feb. 2010 - Seller posts first for sale ad consisting of 2 words, "16,500 ---128,000", also the seller does include an out of focus picture, but you can see the 20 inch rims well. HUH??? Seller reported 130,000 back in 2008--- hmmmm
May 2010 - Seller posts 2nd "for sale" ad, we're up to 5 words this time, "make me a generous offer.."
May 2010 - Seller states that a previous poster is an ass and that the blue book value is 14K, but still doesn't include his asking price
Summary, (not much to go on)
Seller has owned this car for almost 6 years, and in that time posted 2 pictures, (attached here)
Seller is 35 years old and is willing to pay $3000 a year ins. premiums on this S-Class
Seller has never reported major problems directly
Seller has contiplated Z-Max additive for the engine & tranny, why??
Seller questioned the validity of doing a MB recomended transmission service
Dude, just go to eBay if everything is so secretive. I have strong doubt's about your honesty, 130,000 miles in 2008, and 128K in 2010??? I also doubt that you have followed the factory service requirements, and your two service questions are off the wall...
Then you still won't disclose anything after being asked too, it's possible your car is in good shape, but your attitude overshawdows anything good about the car... (the car actually looks pretty nice in the bottom pic, but will it become a maint. nightmare?)
