Hi, thanks for the questions...
Did you get that overheating issue fixed?
Yes, the overheating issue was fixed by the MB dealership 7/08.
What was the problem?
The problem ended up being the water pump. Exact parts are on the service record. Seal rings, pulley, fan, water pump were replaced.
What were the electrical problems after you washed the engine?
The previous owner did the same thing too. We were unaware at the time that the previous owner did the same thing. (both times was to cool the engine down to prevent from over heating..... expensive lesson!)
We have the service record from dealer for both times. Previous owner needed distributor replaced and did that 8/07
For 7/08, the final time it over heated and hosed down, again mb fixed it and parts were: bracket, cable shoe, 2 series resis
Has that been taken care off?
Yes it's been fixed for good this time and hasn't over heated since the water pump was replaced. We've driven it about 4,000 miles since then.
Oh and ulflei.... thanks for the reply, you made me laugh. Well... here is the story of how we go it.... I told (or suggested to him) him to go get a commuter car.... he came home with this!!! I said how is this a commuter car?!!!!! He said he could get to work faster!!! I was not too happy... I said everyone is going to think you are in the mob!! but then I drove it and then i didn't want to get rid of it! But he can't plow with this so he had to give it up. Then he went and ordered a truck before he sold this!!! Spoiled boys and their toys will be boys lol
