Post FS 1976 300D - 4 door sedan

Hello All,

This is the car I came home in from the hospital after being born. It's been in my family before I was here. My parents bought it in Germany, put it on a boat and brought it home. Back then, that was cheaper than buying a Ford if you can believe it. It was our summer car. We lived overseas most of the car's life so the mileage is actual and I have receipts. The car has been very well cared for and garaged most of the time.

For those of you who might not know much about this model, it's a non turbo. But it sure will get you there in style. There are 5 cylinders (I believe the first of its kind) and many sophisticated features that you find in modern cars today.

It saddens my heart to sell ole blue, but I'm finding it harder and harder to find time to enjoy her.

There are 80,700 original miles on the car.

In addition to normal maintenance, here is the more recent work that has been completed:
Replaced starter
Replaced transmission
Replaced head light switch
Replaced Steering Coupler and Gear
Replaced nearly all of the cooling system
Replaced break pads and master cylinder
Replaced Receiver Dryer
Cleaned out the Diesel tank (30+ year of sludge!)
New tires (76,837 miles at the time)

Items that need to be completed:
Install a new A/C Compressor (I have it disconnected to spare the belt squeaks)

There are a few very small rust spots and the paint is in fantastic shape. There have been no accidents or body work on the car. There is a tear in the drivers side seat thanks to a mechanic who probably sat in the car with his screwdriver hanging out of his pocked.. Grrrr. I have the original Becker radio but I have removed it and put a CD player in there. (gotta be realistic). I also have some spare parts that will go with the car.

I believe the pictures have been uploaded properly, but in any case, you can also see them here - Snapfish: Share:Registration

The VIN is
115 114 12 048 368

The engine number is
617 910 12 023 556

Regarding price.... I'm really not sure. Of course it's my baby so I think it will be worth more than it might really be. Make an offer.

Send me an email - jbenoit1@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Thanks for reading
