FS- 1983 MB 300D - Texas
I have for sale my 1983 Mercedes Benz 300D turbo diesel. Here are the basic specs and what has been done to it thus far:
-- Thanks to a very kind gentleman that pulled a carfax for me today, I learned that back in 1991 someone tampered with the mileage of my vehicle. I have the carfax if anyone would like to see it, but someone essentially reset the reported mileage. I am assuming they replaced the odometer, as the tamper seal is still in place, but I do not know for sure. The total mileage on the car looks to be around 220,000. I have lowered the price to $1500 obo.--
*5 cylinder turbo diesel.
*115,643 Odometer , probably more like 220,000 miles total.
*Only MB approved 5w-40 synthetic oil used.
*Automatic trans serviced 5000 miles ago
*All filters and fluids changed less than 5000 miles ago, oil changed every 3000 miles
*I have a high flow air filter on it, but I still have the stock assembly
*New fuel pump
*New rack damper bolt
*New Monark Injectors (these are the desired spray pattern for either diesel or veg oil)
*All new fuel lines from the engine back to the tank
*All new engine vacuum lines
*New style primer pump
*Completely rebuilt front end (New tie rod ends, bushings, ceramic brakes and rotors)
*4 wheel disc brakes standard
*16" rims and from 2002 slk, tires are michelin pilots
*New Volfenhag speakers ( 4" in the front, 6" round in the back)
*New Pioneer radio with aux and usb input
*Sirius Satellite radio
*Dash and cab lights work
If you know anything about these cars, you know they "are very durable and dependable". This one is particularly low mileage for its age. The drivetrain is in excellent shape. It also has a clean texas title and current registration and inspection. It does have a few thing wrong with it. Mainly the sunroof does not work and the interior needs work. My only complaint is that it after a long highway trip it acts like it wants to die after coming to a stop, but it is not a problem with the engine, it is a vacuum problem, so it's not a very costly fix, just time consuming. This was my work car and has been all over texas over 300 miles one way and never let me down once. She is a great car, but since I have lost my job a month ago and recently become a victim of identity theft that took everything else, I really don't have much of a choice. The jeep in the background is also for sale on here, so I am keeping whichever does not sell by the end of the month. You can call me at 817-694-9265 anytime. For you guys that are in the states, I am currently unemployed, so I can deliver anywhere in the US for the added cost of fuel and a trip back to Texas. I will have to have cash up front for that, or atleast enought money to get me there and back if you change your mind upon my arrival. Thanks for looking.
