I still think the gamble for online deals for parts
has far better odds than the Casinos.
I do most my parts shopping online;
on forums, Craigslist, and eBay.
Both buying and selling.
Gotten great deals on all my vehicles that way (on CL with private parties).
PayPal is pretty good at getting your money back if you open a dispute.
Also, most Banks will do the same with credit card orders.
You can open a dispute and if they don't respond you get your money back.
I've already done this a few times with parts that don't arrive or unrelated miscellaneous online memberships.
Also found a great deal for a customer's car I was repairing.
His son went off road with an AWD BMW (E30) 325ix and broke most of the under carriage parts that are not exactly easy to come buy.
Even eBay wanted around $300 and up for a single used CV axle.
I posted on a BMW forum and he was able to get one for $100.
Unfortunately, people do get taken but over all it has saved me over thousands of dollars vs shopping for a new or refurbished replacement.
So don't let a few bad experiences ruin it for you.
Just take precautions or steps to protect yourself in the future.
