560 Motor

How many miles did this have on it ? Was it making any chain noise before failure, or did it just let go ?
Reman's are very expensive; you'd have to plan on keeping car for another 10 years or so to make it worthwhile.

We found jonwhite a rebuild M104 engine with transmission for $200 at the wrecking yard.
Another $ 80-100 was paid for pulling it.
Check the wrecking yards in your area, and take an experienced mechanic along.
Also, check under the valve covers, and only consider cars with accident damage.
Several times a year I spot engines where the heads and chain tensioner still look shiny.
Indicating a recent head rebuild.

If you're on a budget, the DIY salvage yards are your cheapest bet ($200 or so for a long block). Most of them offer some type of exchange policy if it's DOA.

Good luck. Sucks when your engine blows!
