This is a true 4x4 Expedition vehicle.
Plans were to use it for a Tow truck auto hauler flat bed.
Mercedes Benz Cab and chassis are still in dry condition. It is the coachbuilt body add on that is just rusted junk.
The truck starts right up at the push of a button. Smokes, like all diesels.
Once the turbo on this OM352 is spinning, you can tell it will pull this truck down the road like my V8 SL! Ok, maybe not that fast, but you can feel the torque and power is effortless.
Brake hoses are questionable so I no longer go any long distances in it.
It will lot drive. The HEROS pto winch will pull trees down, or even move that pesky guys car that is in front of your house while your at work. I'd just drive over it as I am lazy. The tires were new when I bought it a year ago, or so.
So, the cab was actually a camper. The truck went around most of the world, or so the story goes. I have some old school Polaroids of the guy and his 'pal' in Malaysia...and who knows where else. I also have scans of these with the interior in it, and the way is USED to be. Fast forward to today. It is a rusty shell. The skeleton is actually a nice rear frame and you could easily save that and re-skin it.
So it may look like sh*t, but you can do a brake job and drive it anywhere. Passenger side entry door does not open and close right, rear door is rusty.
Sun roof leaks...I think.
I have the manual, most of its history and factory servicing stickers in the booklet. I have the paper disc thingies that slip in behind the speedo, and a stack of other booklets and manuals. All original to this big pig.
I used my own personal 3-4 car hauler, drove it on and brought it home. You will have to do your own homework on transport. If it is going to Europe, it can go RO RO.
So, think of the possibilities: camper, RV, flat bed, or just pull the engine and trans and let me crush the rest for scrap metal. I'd like $3995 for it.
