Dear fellow MB enthusiasts,
Thinking these would be "correct", interchangeable, and the solution to MY seat belt presenter issues.....I've bought them.
Certainly quite a rarerity, and offered at what was clearly a fair price I took a chance they'd solve my problem.

Sadly, posting on Benzworld in the 124 section titled "seat belt presenter woes" one fellow member proclaimed they were incorrect for my 1995 E320 Cabriolet.
Bummer! Don't make the same mistake I did,.........post FIRST asking our fellow enthusiasts for advice!

Still, finding perfect SBP's, w/relays and their associated parts are in fact quite a "score"......if, they are correct replacements for your particular model.

So......they've been shipped, and I expect to receive them November 12th.
My intention is to offer them up, again, for sale.

Interested?
Please feel free to PM me, send an Email or call.

Sincerely,
David......fellow Benzworld enthusiast.

Have you tried them in your cabriolet? A few people said I couldn't put a diesel transmission in my coupe without modifications...guess what? I have a diesel transmission in my coupe without modifications.

Dear bsmuwk,
Thank you for your response, forgive my delay in returning.

First, no, I have not tried them in my 95 Cab. Actually, I have yet to receive them.
I expect them to arrive on the 12th.

Yes, I agree that despite part number differences, many components are in fact interchangeable. Obviously, you remain living proof.
What I've read, heard, and learned to believe, is that Mercedes does not always change successful parts for the sake of change. Yes, despite differences in part numbers, they may only reflect their cars birthdate, and do not always reflect any changes in the actual part itself.
This remains the reason why I took a chance that despite part number differences.....I purchased the seat belt presenters & related parts.

I will say in my effort to first do my "due dilligence" I spoke to several MB....well MB people.
This was what I learned.
First, my call to the Mercedes dealership's parts dept warned that their experience is that "nine out of ten times, if the parts numbers don't match, the part is incorrect, and won't fit"
Second, my call to the original seller promised that in all honesty they may not be "correct", and could offer no guarantee.
Lastly, my conversation with my well respected MB indie repair specialist, again, produced no confirmation that they'd fit.

I must say, that all three conversations revealed more than their uncertainty, but confirmed that yes....they might in fact be perfectly suitable.
Naturally, like you, I chose to hope that in fact they would be just fine.

Driven by the knowledge of how near impossible they are to be found used and in perfect order, aware of their staggering cost new, and aware of part interchangeability despite different part numbers, it seemed wise to purchase them despite no ones willingness to confirm they'd fit. Meaningful to me was their thoughts that they might.

So....they are on there way.

Now, please if interested, read my posts and responses in the 124 section titled "seat belt presenter woes" Dreisbord. They are directly related to this issue.

Like me, you'll discover two things in particular....maybe more.
First, one of our respected Benzworld fellow claims NO they will not fit, and made referance to pre, and post "facelift" cars.

Secondly, I was directed to addressing the seat belts actual control module, in particular, the relays within it.
Further suggested by another enthusiast was that the existing seat belt presenters may in fact be "healthy".

Trust me, they will eventually be restored to work as new.
Like many of our Benzworld brother & sister enthusiasts I take tremendous pride in my car, and make every effort to see that everything functions perfectly.
You may even say regarding my precious E320 cabriolet that I possess OCD.

Depending on my hopefully expected, and gratefully received future responses, I think my next step is to order a replacement "brain box" seat belt presenter module, and if it doesn't do the trick........explore replacing the existing SBP mechanisms with the questionable replacements arriving soon.

Again, please know how grateful I am for your advice, and I remain hopeful you'll take the time to review my "seatbelt presenter woes" posts and replies.

Feel free.....well, please feel encouraged to PM me, call directly, or Email me.
I need all the help I can get.

Again, so grateful for your continued interest and support,
David

What are the part numbers on these? Also, from what year/model were they removed? I'm trying to get my CE into tip top shape as well and have non-working feeders.

Dear Remotemark,
First, let me applaud you for your efforts to keep your 300ce in "tip top" condtion.
It is a wonderful car!

I will say that I've grown to love the Seat belt presenter feature, and like you, will make sure that mine work perfectly again.

So, received the package yesterday and in response to your question, am just now opening the box.

They appear in every way (including nylon gears) absolutely like new.

Here are their part numbers, obviously slightly different from each other representing the left, and right side: MB#'s 124 860 08 82 the attached relay: MB##124 820 50 26
For the opposite side: MB#124 860 07 82 the attached relay: MB#124 820 50 26

Forgive me, but I'm not certain what year 300ce they've been taken from.

Truly a rare find, and what will be offered again at very fair price. I hope they'll be correct for your car.

Feel free to PM me, call, or Email me.
