NorCal: 1981 280E - Great Condition - Rare

The time has come to list our 280E for sale. We've owned it since 1985 and are the second owners. For a car of its age, it is in great condition. The paint is relatively new and in outstanding condition along the body, the engine runs strong, the engine bay is clean and oil leaks are minimal. It is mechanically very sound, passes smog and the interior is in good condition. There is a crack in the upholstery of the front seat (hence the seat cover). I have a new, better-looking cover that has just been installed. The car has a Sony CD/Radio.

The build quality of this car is amazing. It's built like a tank, but is incredibly smooth to drive. It has quite a bit of grunt under the hood with the 2.8L fuel-injected straight-six. The 4-speed automatic transmission shifts incredibly smoothly and, just like the rest of the drivetrain, will be good for many more miles to come.

Hit me up if you're interested! Asking $1300. (510) 501-6478 or PM

Ah but I am, I am. I've been a big mercedes fan since I was 10. I know well enough to take care of one. My friend's dad had one SLK 320 that I was allowed to see its mechanical work and engineering value. My godfather also has a 380SL which he wants to give to me, but may cost me too much to repair. So I'm looking for something more affordable and without major repair needs and better mileage than a 380SLs V8 Engine. I'm also very familiar with the Mercedes Benz Buses and Transportation vehicles since I've lived in Mexico and Mercedes Are the main producer of mass transportation vehicles, I've known a couple of mechanics who've worked in them.
I may not have a Garage, but I do take care of my stuff dearly. Also I'm going to UC Irvine, where Mercedes are one of the most driven cars.

All in all, it's a beauty the benz you got there. I wish there was a way I could pick it up, where in Nor Cal is it?

I'm in Berkeley. As far as a college car, if you can deal without A/C (unless you fix it), it's reliable and pretty pimpin'. Gas mileage isn't so great, but if you do mostly freeway you could probably pull 20mpg out. I'm trying to get this car sold before the end of the weekend as I'll be leaving town, so if anybody is interested, don't hesitate to contact me.
