Knock Off, Look Alike, Wanna Be, Imitation ... They are not Lorinser and not even a brand name. If they were a brand name, a name would have been on them. Have you wire brushed the insides of the rims and looked with a bright light? There should be something there.

These rims were on my SEC and they are not Mercedes. They are 7Jx15CH by TSW. No Et mark but the offset measures out at approx. 38. They do not belong on a W126 as the inside wheel weights were rubbing on the tie rod ends.

TSW is a good name but just not Mercedes.

These rims are for sale (with the 20 long studs) for $100. They need to be stripped and rechromed or painted.

I will post them in the For Sale Forum tomorrow with pictures.

Charlie, maybe the 16MM is the offset.

My rims measure 8" (from outside of rim on the outside to the outside of rim on the inside) which would put the physical center of the rim at 4" from either edge.

]--------.--------[ rim = 8" overall

l--------4--------l so center (no offset) would have the hub flat at 4"

On my rims, the outside edge to the flat of the wheel hub measures 2.5".
Since the physical center of the rim is at 4" then by subtracting where the hub flat actually is (2.5") from the 4" physical center gives us a value of 1.5" which is the offset from true center.

This is a positive or plus offset. If the hub flat was offset towards the center of the car then it would be a negative or minus offset.

]----h---.--------[ my actual rim with hub flat 'h' offset towards outside of the rim

l----2.5--.--------l measure from outside of rim to flat of hub

4" minus 2.5" = 1.5" which equates to an offset (expressed in mm) of approx. 38mm.

If Rollguy's offset is 16mm then the hub flat on his rims should be offset 5/8 of an inch towards the outside of the rim from dead center. Then again, maybe the rims are different sizes and different offsets.

Get a tape measure and measure the rims rollguy.

If I have "splained" this wrong someone please correct me and put me out of my misery.

Rims

I had looked at a set of rims here locally that had the same exact center cap arrangement: large cap with a security allen bolt thru cap . They had come off of a 88 560SEL so I was told, looked like AMG hammer wheels. The inside of rim had a ' mold number " cast in rim, so they were not forged rims . Also, there was no TUV approval anywhere to be found. I think most of these real rims would be marked as " Made in Germany or Italy or Austria " I think these are some wheels that were sold by dealers as an upgrade as it were .Not knocking them, but I am about 98% sure that these are a knockoff, most likely cast .

They really look like Centras... which came in 14", 15", and 16"
I had the 14x6 version on my euro 123 a decade ago.

Yes they do, but I think they are knock offs. I have a Centra (CENTRA cast inside the wheel) wheel that looks very similar.
