I have to agree here. I love the car and I'm well aware of how well it was built, but when you create a one-off car like that, it's near impossible to find a buyer for it, which means the price has to reflect that.

Just because you have $23k in it, doesn't mean you'll get that back. No slamming here, just wondering if your price is realistic. To try to be helpful, I'd add that I think you might be able to find a buyer at $12k-$15k, but there's a small pool who'd want to buy someone else's project. When you build a car like that, I think you have to understand that it's virtually unsellable when you're done with it.

Maybe you should keep it rather than sell it at such a loss.

Don't intend to sell it at "such a loss".
You're right... the average W123 isn't worth anything close to $23K. This is a superb example of a rare coupe, and there is not likely to be any nicer or more unique in the USA.

How about I borrow it for a week? I'd think that car would be a BLAST to own and drive. I'd rather you keep it, actually. It doesn't benefit me, but, man, you put so much work into that beautiful car!

I did see it. Beautiful car. My engine is way cleaner, but I'll bet a paycheck his is a tad faster!
Couldn't touch that for anywhere near my asking price.
Funny how many people have opinions that have never even laid eyes on my car.
