380SLC Dash

Hi All,

I know that I am a new member, and so, not trusted by many of you but I thought I would offer this part for sale. I have a very nice, not perfect, dash for a 81 380SLC that I no longer need. It is dark brown top with palomino bottom and comes complete with the AC vent nozzles, burl-wood trim and speaker covers. Does not have the glove box door or insert, temp sensor or speakers. The cloth strip on the front should be replaced as it is gray now and is somewhat deteriorated, though usable. There are no major cracks in the top. there are very minor cracks at the defroster vents (about 1 or 2 mm long) but as per instructions I have found on this or another forum, I have injected lots of isocyanite and they appear to be perfectly stabilized. Other than that it seems to be a very nice dash. I was going to install it in my 560SL but there are minor differences in the two dashes. The SLC dash has openings for four switches below the center vents where the 560SL has only three (don"t know what the 4th opening is for). Also the air temp sensor hole is in a slightly different location and the 560 dash has a cutout for the knee bolster. I believe the dash, with very minor modifications will fit any 107 but more experienced folks might know better. Also, I bought Sokolof's perfect 560SL dash and no longer need this one. I have researched the new dashes and am familiar with their pricing and availability. I would prefer to sell locally for obvious reasons, plus locals can inspect prior to sale, but will consider shipping for actual shipping costs plus $10 bucks for packing materials (no scammers please, cash or I will hold personal check till it clears). I believe $400 dollars is reasonable (plus shipping) but if no interest in a few weeks will consider reasonable offers. I don't know if Sokolof will vouch for me but I have met him in person at his home and hold him in the highest regards. Also delivered some of his parts to another member in my home town of Atlanta. If you are interested, let me know, I can send photos to your e-mail, don't know how to post them here yet. I don't want to put this on Ebay as I have never sold there and it seems to be a hassle. Reply or PM if interested, forgive me if it takes a day or two to respond as I travel constantly for work and daughter's sports events.

Thanks, and hope to get to know many of you better.

Tim
