Auto Seat Memory Module - R129 and other 1990-2002 models
I demonstrated my newly installed seat memory module at the Irvine MB gathering last Saturday. My seat goes all the way back and steering wheel goes forward and up (programmed into position #3) automatically when you turn the ignition off. Get in and turn the ignition on and the they come back to your driving position (memory position #2).
The module is installed under the driver's seat by splicing into the seat controller wiring. It takes about ten minutes for the entire installation. Nothing in the original system is disturbed so you can shut it off and everything operates as OEM.
It is a prototype and not quite ready for production. They used my car as a test bed and I am thrilled with the results. As payment for using my car, they gave me the installed prototype gratis. My idea behind this post is to give other forum members a chance to get one cheap.
I am told I need a minimum of 15 requests for them to do a production version with wiring harness and installation manual. The cost will be in the $190 neighborhood. If I can get 20 or more requests, we are looking at at least a 20% discount or better.
I will not make anything on this deal. I just think this product will be a great deal for early MB owners looking to "modernize" their cars a little. We know we have the wiring figured out for the R129, but should be able to expand to other models of similar years. If I get enough interest, I will contact the engineer and see what can be done.
PM me if you are interested. I have two guys ready to go now.
I don't downshift often, but when I do, it is next to a Prius so I can show them how I am hurting the environment!
