I am selling my 1995 Mercedes C36 AMG. It is located in Memphis, TN and has been a Southern, rust free, since new. I am sure that you are familier with the limited production nature of this car so I will provide some specifics about mine.
I have owned it since January of 2005 and I purchased it from my brother who received it on trade from its second owner. The second owner purchased it as a Starmark Certified used car from the actual Mercedes dealership owner, Gunter Stephan. It was Gunter's personal car and he and its second owner, took great care of the car and he was very happy to see it again when I brought it in to be serviced.
Since I have owned the car, I have spend many dollars maintaining the engine replacing most of the major components including the throttle body and wiring harness due to the wire insulation breakdown. As you may already know, this was commonly found in most German cars of this vintage. When the head gasket failed, I rebuilt, the head and replaced all related valve train components subject to wear including the timing chain, chain rails, and chain tensioner. I replaced many other parts as needed as well. See the attached pdf as it includes the list of the related parts and work completed over the years. After all this, the engine runs great and the car looks even better!
I am confident that it has been a Southern car for its whole life and should be rust free. I have not performed any major body work to the car. The front bumper shows road rash as it has been repainted once previously and the applied paint is not as robust at resisting chips as the factory paint surely was. I have cared for it as a collector/collectable car. The miles on the clock are about 131,700.
I have used the Dr. Color Chip paint chip system to repair any paint chips on the surface of the metal body work and have been very impressed with its performance to make chips disappear. I use the Griot's Garage car care system products and have taken much pride in maintaining its shine. Griot's leather care and rubber and trim interior conditioners have made the leather seem to not age at all. I almost feel that the leather has improved with age. Most people who see the car, cant believe that it is 14 years old. I have tried to share with you my best efforts at photography, however, being some what of a purist, the flash photography never does the interior justice.
The headliner is beginning to sag in one spot and will eventually need to be replaced including the sunroof sunshade. The head unit lcd has fogged over slightly yet the radio still works. The Cd changer in the trunk has not worked for a while. All of the wheels are original and look good, however the clear coat has started to chip off in sections.
I would be happy to talk about the car at anytime and look forward to any questions.
I am asking $9680.
