How to rank top 4 candidates for my first MB

I'm looking for a weekend driver as my first MB, and want to limit my budget to about $8k, or less....understanding that is just the beginning of mtce. issues that will arise over the first year.
I've combed the individual forums for comments/issues on each of these models (using the search feature as suggested) and yes, they all seem to have pros and cons. I want something reasonably sporty, but not a two-seater. (I wish MB sold more manual transmissions, but they are much harder to find than with VWs or BMWs, for example). So these are all automatics.
Anyway, I'd appreciate your opinions of which of these I should travel to see...I live in a remote small town in West Texas. I am not in the DIY category
All of these four have clean CARFAX, reasonable service records, and relatively low miles. All have been serviced in the last 45 days or so, according to the owners. Most have new tires. In photos, they look almost new actually. Thoughts on these?

- 1. 1991 190E 2.6, 92K miles, $5,500

- 2. 1993 190E Sportline 2.6, 92K miles,(recarro seats, carbon fiber dash etc.), $5,700

-3. 1995 E300D, 82K miles, $7900

- 4. 1994 E320 Sportline package, 84K miles, $5200.

All these are asking prices, subject to reasonable negotiation, and I'm willing to pay somewhat above Blue Book for a top specimen. I will do independent inspection for the ultimate finalist.

I would go with #4... Probably the best driving satisfaction and utility. Price ain't bad either.

1) Which ones of those have you driven? I like the looks of the 190s, but I don't like driving them much. Feel to cramped and weird to me. I guess I like more heft, but some people love the lightweight and "tossability" of the 190E. Of the two you mentioned, the Sportline is a hands down winner.

2) What are you going to do with it? If you're going to commute 100 miles to work in it, then I'd shoot for the '95 diesel. If it's going to be a toy, get the '93 190E Sportline or the '94 E320 Sportline.

I's stick with the W124's, If your inclined to look at a deisel in the same breath as a sportline on an equal basis, it's just a matter of condition, estimated cost to repair future items, and finally whats the bottom line price on each deal. Since they are both facelift models, your indy will tell you if they need the wireharness replacement or if it's been done already.

Another consideration since you used the word "sporty", is that the E320 will feel alot sportier than the deisel. Personally, all things being equal I'd like the Sportline over the deisel. My next one will hopefully be a 400E or E420, (or a diesel S class...lol)

personally id go with the 95 e300d because its low mileage and will last longer that a gas model, most likely.
