Sharp unexpected downturn on my side this past week.
1999 E55, metaillic silver with black interior.
Like new black leather interior, interior black burl wood like new. Metallic silver exterior in brilliant condition.
Drove from California to my Arkansas home last September, had a great trip to wind out the legs on this car.
This E55 is with me here in Northwest Arkansas, with clear original California title, all ready to go.
Mechanically top notch, this E55 has been checked in the past 3 months both by my local MB dealer and my 3rd generation MB indie. All proper maintenance done including dealer transmission maintenance. Fresh Michelin Pilots and fresh OE rotors and OE pads all around in last 15K.
Attached quick pics are fair shots, not super glossed up.
A relatively bombproof driving car that can scoot 0-60 at/under 5 sec - at a price under $10K what's not to love ?
October 2008 Car and Driver road and track tested a '99 E55 with close to 200K on the clock. The mag called the 200K car one heck of a value under $25K, and my E55 in under $10K ! For those that read that article in detail: MB's original "tranny sealed for life" service recommendation was what lead to the test car tranny failure at 160K. My E55 has had the correct updated tranny fluid and filter dealer service. I have proactively replaced the CPS sensor on this E55, like I do with all my MB's over 100K.
