FS 1980 300SD Turbodiesel 116 Chassis

1980 Mercedes Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel 4-door sedan

PA inspection good thru 6/30/09. Navy blue paint/Tan MB-Tex interior
3rd owner of original engine 101k mile 300SD. SOLD AS IS. Prefer local buyer, and prefer certified cashier's check. Buyer will sign PA transfer of title verification form that verifies transfer of title and odometer accuracy.

Pros: Engine is strong, with recent valve adjustment. New master cylinder installed 6/08. New water pump and thermostat installed last year. Glow plug relay replaced 2 years ago. New injector lines installed last year. Exterior is straight, as far as we know car has never been in an accident. New Michelin Hydro-edge tires (less than 3000 miles), new steering stabilizer installed last year. Interior is very clean, dash is gorgeous - no cracks. No tears, rips or cuts on any of the seats, although rear seat stuffing has broken down, carpets very clean for being the original carpeting, could use a steam clean though. New front window regulators, rear left is weak, but still works. New oil pressure gauge, and speedometer cable. Sony AM/FM Cassette with 10 disc CD changer in trunk. Cruise control works accurately. Heat is HOT. Trunk is very clean but may need to have seal replaced.

Cons: Weak transmission - slips between 2nd/3rd gears, vacuum actuator has been replaced and adjusted by my mechanic (independent MB mechanic in business for over 30 years) which stopped the slipping for awhile, but the problem came back. A/C has not worked since we purchased. Some rust and orange peeling has developed on the roof around the sunroof, previous owner had a larger after-market glass sunroof installed, and there is some rusting around edge of headliner. The sunroof mechanism is is basically worn out and unusable. Right rear door has some paint scratched off down to the primer but no rust. Front & rear window seals need replacing (seals included).

$2500 - OBO
