99 SLK for sale
Fellow SLK owners,
Anyone looking to buy an 99 MB SLK? I'm looking to sell my SLK, I would love to keep it but, I just don't have time anymore since having 2 kids in the past 3 years . The car has 96K original miles and is a stick shift standard (would never think 96K on this clutch, could go another 96K if you know how to drive stick properly and don't beat on it). To be upfront, last year after getting an inspection sticker and driving home, I got clipped on the driver side fender, right where the fender and the bumper cover meet. Nothing serious, no air bag deployment. It has a broken yellow side marker on the bumper broke and the directional lens is broke, the headlight portion is just fine. It will need fairly minor body work, its more of a dent vs serious scratches and major repair. Under $1000.00 to repair, if that, I'm just being fair if brought to a body shop. I know there are plenty of guys on here that one could get the parts from and do it for less. Other than that, the car is has been babied since Ive owned it (2007), I bought it with 45K on it, women owned it before me. Has been stored in a garage thru all winters up until the last one (wife needed the garage for the kids). Never driven in the winter either. AMG sport package, tire have less 5K on them, if that many. All the switches in the roof have been replaced with brand new MB parts. This car was never beat on, and the miles that it does have are highway, back and forth to my inlaws at the beach and thats it. This SKL is perfect for someone that wants to fix the fender/bumpercover, yellow lens, and directional lamp next to the headlight. Being a long time enthusiast and member of this site, I figured I would start here. This car can be fixed or is the ultimate replacement parts car. The motor is strong and original, no mods, never got a chance to do that and now definitely don't have time. Aftermart clarion pro CD player with sirius running thru the bose system and it does have power and RCA's to the trunk for a sub (I used to swap out the sub and amp from it after summer into my daily driver.
If interested, I can get pics at all angles. I just haven't had the time and wanted to throw this up on the site to get the word out. PM me if interested, obviously would need to come get it, could be driven but, would recommend a tow simply because the dent in the fender cause the tire to rub if the suspension flexes due to there not being much room between the tires and fender to begin with.
Blue book value is $5800 in good condition and as low as $5300. IMO, fix the minor body work/ bumper cover and this car for 15 years old would be a "very good" rating. I'll take $4K, this is giving the room for $1000.00 for a body shop to fix the fender/bumper cover, after that, I sure your couldn't find a nicer 99 for $5000 after all said and done. I don't even think it would cost that, I'm just looking to be fair and sell it. The tires alone, which are new are worth $1000, on offset AMG wheels.
PM if interested.. Again, I will try and post picks before the weekend is up. If truly interested, Ill get them sooner.
