Wheels (and tires) are the component on a car that takes the most beating, at least for those of us that don't thrash our cars. To think that a used, well worn set will sell for anything close to what you can get a new set for is unrealistic. I can find the 19" set of these wheels for $2,200 new from a dealer in SoCal (check for yourself on ebay).
That said, I'm looking to change out of the stock 18-inch 5-spokes on my '05 SL500. I like the look of these.
If they're still available, I'd be willing to buy this set:
- repaired and guaranteed in writing by the shop you mention in SoCal to balance and not be structurally unsound
- with the rubber
- for $1800, with shipping included to NorCal (SF)
After the repairs the wheels should have no rash and cosmetically look very good to excellent. This also assumes there is absolutely no rash on the main part of the wheel (the non-rim portion). Sometimes that happens with high curbs on big wheels.
Please let me know if interested!
