WTD: 99 SL Driver's Side Mirror Glass

Need only the glass. This is the self-dimming one, but will take non-dimming if it fits.

PM if you can help. Thanks.

I just replaced mine with an 'overlay' mirror from a local autoglass supplier...$26 installed with silicone adhesive over the old mirror; perfect fit as it is made for our cars. The overlay will not auto-dim. BTW, if you're losing the fluid in the existing mirror, get it off the paint if it drips on it...the stuff is caustic whatever it is.

Thanks, Bob. The fluid seems to be disappearing, but there's no sign of where it's going. I think I'll try the overlay, but I guess I need to clear out the fluid first. Did you have to deal with that?

The 'disappearing' fluid was my first symptom too; I think it was simply evaporating. Mine started to leak only after the knucklehead installer got the overlay on crooked and had to remove it thereby cracking the mirror and the fluid leaked. In your case, I wouldn't worry about it if your mirror is still intact.

The silicone adhesive takes a few minutes to set up, and you'll have plenty of time to set the overlay properly.
