I don't believe the 18" wheels above would fit the W126 with that high of an offset. You'd need to double check the width of the wheel and fitment.

If you want REAL W126 AMG wheels, wheels that were designed especially for the W126... contact the member here "brucemendel" as he usually carries the AMG Penta's and Monoblock I's.

good luck

Cool, thanks - I just got an email from Bruce yesterday. I see I need to be careful on what rims I get for the 560SEL. I've read that 18s are too heavy for the suspension, and the car does not track well with two different sized front and back. I would love to have the correct period type rims.

The car tracks fine with a staggered setup....meaning different width front and rear. It will tramline more with bigger diameter wheels with wider tires, but it's not too bad and it will do that even if width is the same F&R. It is also highly dependent on tires.

Mine are 16" and 17"...18" ride like crap in my humble opinion on these cars.

I have a set of AMG chrome wheels and tires that are flawless. They are 245/45/17 all around. A perfect setup for your ride. The offsets are an even 35mm. Will fit your car like a glove. Here's a quick picture of them. Tires still have 60% tread. $750 buys them.
