If you are buying a Rolex without the original papers, ask the seller to agree to send it to an Authorized Rolex Service center and have it serviced (overhauled) under his name. But, you keep the service agreement receipt.
If Rolex serviced it without a problem you pay for the cost of service plus the agreed price of the watch. If it is not authentic or if it is stolen, Rolex service center won't return the watch.
I had luck buying this way. Also, I agree to other posters that the price is on the high end. Go to "Timezone.net" Rolex watch for sale and you'll find in that price range you may be able to get a two-tone sub.
