Without the original COA documentation, the watch is worthless for resale. Hate to tell you that. If you dont have those papers, your best bet is to sell it to a jeweler who will know it is real.

Even with papers your price it too high, anyone with a bit of homework can get them brand new w/papers and all for $4200....you can either find the papers ( NOT the catalogue and user manual, the original receipt with the serial number, or take it to Rolex an have them authenticate it, have the model number series available ...anyone who knows anything about Rolexes will not buy it without these verifications. Just my 2c.

If you are buying a Rolex without the original papers, ask the seller to agree to send it to an Authorized Rolex Service center and have it serviced (overhauled) under his name. But, you keep the service agreement receipt.

If Rolex serviced it without a problem you pay for the cost of service plus the agreed price of the watch. If it is not authentic or if it is stolen, Rolex service center won't return the watch.

I had luck buying this way. Also, I agree to other posters that the price is on the high end. Go to "Timezone.net" Rolex watch for sale and you'll find in that price range you may be able to get a two-tone sub.
