I'm thinking about selling my 88 190E 3.0.

The car has a myriad of upgrades, but is a work in progress that I just don't have the time for.

For starters, the car received a remanufactured M103 3.0L motor from a 300SE at 83,000 miles; the odo currently reads 112K. The head was completely remanufactured on this motor, including sand-blasted pistons, new rings and bearings, gaskets, chain, seals, etc. The vehicle received a transmission shortly thereafter that was a remanufactured auto from the dealership. So the drivetrain is f***ing terrific, and it shows. I also have information I've collected on the Biturbo upgrade and manual tranny swap, as these were my next major steps before rehabing the exterior.

Bilstein sport shocks with Eibach(rear) Intrax(front) springs, Moda R6 wheels, lots of suspension work including subframe mount bushings, all rear links/arms; Front big brake upgrade (12.1" cross-drilled rotors w/4-piston calipers). The interior is a combination of the black leather 16V seats, '93 console and dash, and W202 steering wheel. Euro headlights, SL grille, Black tail lights. Wiper, sunroof, windows, locks, A/C all work.

The pitfall is the exterior. It needs a windshield. The car includes a replica Evo 2 body kit that needs about 15-20 hours with a good fiberglass person. The front bumper is a total loss, and I've found a replacement in California for $250 shipped. The rear bumper also needs help. The car will need a new cat-back exhaust; the Sebring cat-back that I have on there is basically rusted through on the muffler. Also, the cat-pipe was turned into a straight-pipe, but can be returned to DOT/Smog legal by any muffler shop.

All said and done, Interior is 90%, Drivetrain 85%, Exterior 60%

That said, this is basically a search for offers. If I get a good enough offer then I'll sell, otherwise I'm scouting it out to see what people would pay. Again, this is a work in progress, so keep your comments to yourself if you only wish to scoff. This car means a lot to me and I won't just sell it for peanuts. The car was purchased with the body kit for $7,500 at 50,000 miles, and has received nearly $10,000 in upgrades and maintenance. I obviously don't expect to recoup this amount, but please be realistic with any offers. I estimate that with about 4-5K spent after purchase this car would be a real show stopper.

MAN! I have a 190E with the 2.3 in it and it's on it's last leg. I found a 300E with the 3.0L in it. What did it take to get that motor in? Do they bolt right up?

Don't think it'll fit. If you had a 2.6, that's another story. I've looked into it myself.
