1980 280TE EURO 4-speed $6,000
Yep. Selling my 280TE. Car has 207K on and is exceptionally clean and mechanically sound for the mileage. All the euro type goodies: Manual sunroof, manual windows, manual transmission (4-speed) Euro lights, bumpers etc. No A/C. No roof rails. As far as i can tell the car has always been in Oregon. Story i got from previous owners was that it was on by a missionary who used this car to drive to Southern California and back. Freeway miles are the only thing that can explain how clean the interior of this car is. Only a few records came with the car but they are pretty valuable. Cylinder head rebuilt @ 185k ( in 1998) with new valves and guides. New calipers and brake pads @ 198k. New plugs, wires and full tune up @ 199k. Previous owner told me the clutch had just been replaced but i do not have documentation of the work. I have put about 1,000 miles on the car and in that time i have rebuilt the SLS pump and replaced the accumulators. Rear suspension is in perfect working condition and the car rides like a dream. There are no signs of any body damage anywhere on the car and it is remarkably rust free. As far as i can tell the car is MOSTLY original paint. The front end seems too clean to be original but i suppose it is possible. Dash lights do not work. Rear passenger door does not lock with the rest sometimes i assume this is a small vacuum leak. Antenna is broken off. Transmission has small whine in 1st gear, the rest are silent and all are smooth. Needs new hood pad. Very rare car! Great original condition! I am asking $6,000 OR BEST OFFER. I am VERY interested in partial trade for a diesel sedan, will consider 280e (must be manual trans, manual windows, etc) early diesel rabbit, w123 or AMG goodies.
