1984 300SD $2000

1984 Mercedes Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel

It has just under 263,000 miles. Unfortunately I do not have the service records. All routine maintenance I did myself. It is ready to drive as-is, but it is difficult to start when cold due to the glow plugs. It always starts, but takes a while. If there is an outlet available, it has a block heater so it will start right up. It also needs a shut-off valve, which you could probably have done for about $50 or so. This causes it to not turn off on it's own. This is a pretty typical repair for these cars, and they apparently anticipated it, as there is a manual shut-off lever on the engine, so it's more of an annoyance than anything else. The amazing thing about this car is that the problems it has do not keep it from running, it just doesn't want to stop running As of recently, there is a noise when turning right, not sure what it is... maybe brakes? Braking power is normal, but that is the only thing that comes to mind. The interior is pretty good for a 24 year old car. No rips, but some worn leather. I usually get around 26-28 mpg on the highway. Not sure about city miles. It has an automatic transmission. You can pm me here on benzworld, or e-mail me at jrowland74@insightbb.com

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to pm me or e-mail at jrowland74@gmail.com. Also, I am open to suggestions about lowering/raising price. I feel this is a fair price, but some of you may know better than me. Thanks!

what's the "etc" that need to be fixed?
price neg?
ac work?
heat?
trans shift ok?
smoke exhaust?
oil use?

etc...

The "etc." is the rest of the things listed in the description... shut off valve, possible brakes, also front driver side window and rear passenger windows do not work. A/C does not work, heat works fine. Transmission shifts as it should and exhaust smoke is normal to the best of my knowledge. There is a small oil drip, but from what I have been told on here that is normal. I typically add a little less than a quart gradually between changes. I am asking 2k, but may negotiate if I see a good offer. I am open to trades, as long as they are not for an unknown mileage VW Cabriolet with a terrible paintjob like the last guy offered me. Haha.
